Photos from the dinner on Sunday night here.
The schedule of talks is now available.
The Mathematical Reasoning Group was founded at Edinburgh in 1975 with the Mecho Project. Since then, more than a hundred students and other researchers have been members of the group. In July and August 2005, IJCAI-05 will come to Edinburgh. AI researchers from across the world will attend, many of whom will be ex-MRG members. We, therefore, thought that this would be an ideal occasion for a reunion of group members.
On Monday 1st August 2005, we will have a one-day meeting, including both technical and non-technical talks, with a dinner the previous evening of 31st July. The dinner will be buffet-style and will be held in the Raeburn Room, Old College 7-11pm. The main meeting will be held on the 3rd floor of the Appleton Tower (which is currently our home), and will include a sandwich lunch. Registration will be free. All ex-MRG members are invited to attend and to take an active part. The definition of "ex-MRG" has been deliberately left vague and will be interpreted very loosely. If you would like to take part then you will be very welcome. Participants are invited to offer a short talk. Technical talks might be on the research on which you are currently engaged; Non-technical talks might be on memories of your time in Edinburgh.
